Website Maintenance

Search Engines Are Always Updating, Do Not Get Left Behind

Why Website Maintenance Is Important?

Google wants to bring the top authority website for #1 rank (not including map pack or ads).

To give you the most useful information, Search algorithms look at many factors and signals, including the words of your query, relevance and usability of pages, expertise of sources, and your location and settings.

SEO Is The Long Game

Month after month of building backlinks, adding new products and adding meta data

Google wants to give the best result so you continue to use Google. In doing so, Google looks for signals (keywords, call to actions, conversions) and trigger events (bounce rate, scrolling, going through a website)

It took 2 years to become rank #1 in Google Search Results for "Jaguar Body Kits" and "Body Kit Jaguars" It took an amazing product, followed up with backlinks, product announcements, social media posting, guest blogs and monthly keyword updates on meta information along with schema and proper product snippets.

Google Updates Annually

2024

Google had 5 Big Updates 2024

In 2024 Google had 5 updates. March consisted of a Core Update and a Spam update.

March Google Core Update

Beginning on 5th March, it was the longest roll-out of its kind, taking a total of 45 days to complete and concluding on 26th April.

Focus was to cut down on AI websites

March Google Spam Update

The spam update which rolled out in March coincided with the March Core Update, beginning on the 5th of March. It took a total of two weeks to fully roll out and looked to target AI-generated content and authority abuse.

Alongside this update, Google also introduced three new spam policies as Google attempted to double down on those taking advantage of manipulative tactics.

August Core Update 2024

Describe the product here. Include important features, pricing and other relevant info. Consider adding an image or video of the product.

November & December Core Update

Having a core December update was kind of a surprise but according to google developers, we should not be surprised if we get more frequent updates like the Nov, Dec core update.

Google Updates 2025

September 2025 Impression Update

All SEO marketers and business owners witnessed the stark contrast of what some are calling, "True Impressions" since Google is no longer applying n=100 impressions and only showing true scroll trigger event impressions.

Aka, you have to scroll down and see the website's URL to count as an impression. If you know anything about map packs and Google Ads then you know any website ranking for the 3rd page is drastically affected in rank, clicks and impressions.

Please Do Not Become Stagnant or Complacent

Google Delivers A Lot Of Updates

It is easy to see your clicks maintain being strong with no monthly updates. The difficult situation surfaces when you are 2 years behind on Google updates and you are wondering why your clicks and impressions have gone down.

I've seen it hundreds of times, clients have told me that 2 years ago they were selling left and right with no effort. Then the inevitable happens, your website falls behind Google's algorithm updates. Then sales no longer exceed cost, clients will be patient but after 2-6 months, the client becomes worried and begins searching for answers why their website has been performing as it use to. That is when someone recommends me or the client finds me on an SEO Facebook group.

Recovery Is Difficult And Long

When you search for help with your website, you will come across individuals who will promise the world and ranking #1 within a week. Please do not fall prey to those false promises because "if it's too good to be true, it probably is."

You will not see drastic ranking changes for 2 months minimal. You can increase clicks with keyword and title changes. Maybe get a quick sale with UX/UI updates but a quick fix will fade into obscurity within 6 months.

Let me explain what truly happens with SEO updates.

What Truly Happens With SEO Updates

Google Search Console Manual Submissions

After you update your keywords after market research, your updated UX/UI with keywords, show optimal conversion with updated meta info from photos to descriptions.

You manually submit your page(s) URL to Google Search Console (GSC), GSC will take a few days to see the first URL you submitted.

After GSC registers the URL crawl it will give a higher impression on that URL (we call the honeymoon period) Google gives you the honeymoon period because Google is testing your new content among users who are within your keyword search

Auto Crawl Vs Manual Submission

Auto crawl on average will scan your website once a month, which includes sitemap and URLs it can discover.

If you are waiting on auto crawls, because you have a massive website with lots of URLs then you will have to wait for the auto crawl. If you a service based URL then you can auto submit and have Google crawl your website in 72 hours (depending your Google trust score)

Google will put you through the honeymoon phase for maybe 3 weeks (varies on your google trust score) but after that, Google will place you were its code thinks you should be placed. If your code is great aka titles, UX/UI, Trigger events and meta data, then it will place you higher on the rankings but it can also place you lower than you want. Remember, a human person never sees your website, just code that reads your website with trigger events.
